Paul McCartney Fans Emotional After Ringo Starr Joins Him Onstage: “Bring Them to Liverpool!”

Paul McCartney wrapped up his highly successful ‘Got Back’ world tour with a heartfelt finale that left fans in tears. The legendary Beatles icon, now 82, has been on tour since October, concluding with two electrifying nights at London’s O2 Arena this week. The final show on Thursday, December 19, featured surprise guest appearances by Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones and Paul’s former bandmate, Ringo Starr.

Ringo’s arrival on stage during the encore sparked an emotional response. “I’ve had a great night tonight; it’s been a great show,” said the 84-year-old drummer. Together, the duo performed iconic tracks like ‘Helter Skelter’ and ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.’ Before leaving, Ringo added, “I’m off now, I’ve had a great night, and I love you all.”

Fans were ecstatic to witness the reunion of two Beatles on stage. Following the show, Sir Paul shared a heartfelt message on social media:
“Thank you, London! After traveling across South America and Europe, we’re back home for the final shows of the 2024 ‘Got Back’ tour. Making its first stage appearance in 50 years… is my original bass! And for you, a special guest: a Rolling Stone, Ronnie Wood! And another surprise: the one and only Ringo Starr! See you next time!”

The emotional moment prompted fans to call for more joint performances by the two Beatles legends. Many suggested Liverpool as the perfect venue, lamenting that the tour skipped their hometown in favor of two nights in Manchester.

One Instagram user, Dale Liverpool, commented: “Bring Ringo up to Liverpool and let’s finish the tour in style, Paul!” Another fan, Leila_Zaap, added: “Please do a tour together, you and Ringo. It would be the best.”

On Facebook, Tracy Adams shared: “Bringing Ringo on made me and my hubby sob! Thank you for the most amazing show, your time, and the incredible catalogue of music you’ve given the planet. Keep on, keeping on.”

Others echoed the sentiment, like James Murphy, who simply said: “More Paul and Ringo stage appearances!” and Vicky Millward, who hinted at the desire for a Liverpool show: “Pity they never played in their hometown.”

The idea of a Liverpool performance resonated strongly with fans. Instagram user helenmco65 pleaded: “Just come on home to Liverpool, Paul, for a few shows. We’re waiting for you.”

As the ‘Got Back’ tour ends on a high note, fans are left hoping for more iconic reunions—and perhaps, a return to the Beatles’ roots in Liverpool.
