Barcelona to Display Rolling Stones Logo in Upcoming Clásico

FC Barcelona announced on Thursday that it will feature the logo of the Rolling Stones’ tongue and lips on the first-team football shirt in the LaLiga EA Sports match against Real Madrid, which will be played on Saturday, October 28th at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.

The iconic emblem will replace the Spotify logo on the first-team kit to celebrate the release of the British band’s album ‘Hackney Diamonds’ on Friday.

In addition to being seen on the men’s first-team kit, the logo will also appear on the front of the women’s team shirt in the F League match against Sevilla on Sunday, November 5th at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.

This is not the first time that the blue and garnet jersey has promoted musical creations in collaboration with Spotify, the club’s main commercial partner.

In last season’s Madrid-Barça match, managed by Xavi Hernandez, the team sported the logo of Canadian singer and songwriter Drake, while in the return match, they featured the emblem of ‘Motomami,’ the latest album by Rosalía.

Both the Barcelona club and Spotify have shared different audiovisual content on their respective social media platforms to introduce fans to this partnership.

In one of the videos, residents of a residential neighborhood receive the news of the agreement through a newspaper delivery person, while television images show Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Ronnie Wood – the band members – holding the Barcelona shirt with the new logo.

The piece concludes with the newspaper being delivered to Pedro González ‘Pedri,’ who falls onto the training field in the presence of Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal, all while the iconic song ‘Start Me Up’ by the British band plays.

As part of this collaboration, the club will release two exclusive editions of the match shirt: a total of 1899 limited units of the special match jersey and 22 pieces with the signatures of the starting players for the men’s and women’s teams.
