While juggling multiple creative endeavors, Paul McCartney proves that his passion for performing his music live remains as strong as ever. Despite having seemingly concluded his Got Back Tour in June 2022, the former Beatle has surprised fans by extending the tour and adding new dates across the globe. McCartney’s commitment to his fans is evident as he keeps expanding his ongoing tour, which is quickly becoming a global affair.
In a surprising turn of events, McCartney unveiled a string of new tour dates in late July, reigniting the excitement of fans who believed the tour had reached its conclusion months ago. The Got Back Tour seemingly concluded in the summer of 2022, but now it’s back and growing.
McCartney initially revealed a string of performances scheduled in Australia, with stops in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Brisbane. This unexpected expansion thrilled his fans down under, as the delightful news came with little warning.
On August 6, McCartney responded to the overwhelming demand from his Australian fans by announcing yet another addition to his tour schedule. Recognizing the enthusiasm of his supporters, he swiftly added a second show in Sydney, allowing even more fans to snag a ticket to his live performances. The newly added concerts are scheduled for October 27 and 28, with the latter show serving as the latest installment in his extended Australian run.
In a playful video shared on his Twitter account, McCartney extended the Got Back Tour once more, this time stating that he was headed to Brazil. The video’s opening line, “Come to Brazil? Claro!” is a play on a comment many fans tweet to their favorite musicians when they want them to tour.
This new leg of the Got Back Tour includes a series of concerts throughout Brazil, including stops in Brasília, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro, among others. Scheduled for November and December, these performances will likely wrap his performing schedule for 2023.
As he continues to extend the once-concluded Got Back Tour, McCartney shows that even though he’s in his 80s and certainly doesn’t need the money, he’s enjoying what he does and wants to continue to perform for the millions who love him and his music all around the world.
