Earlier this month The Rolling Stones not only shared a new track but also announced they would be taking part in a new online series, sharing some rare footage of treasured performances.
The latest in the six-part series, Extra Licks, sees the Stones share the rare Havana Moon footage with clips from the 2016 concert film. It documents the band’s historic free show in Havana, Cuba at the Ciudad Deportiva de la Habana.
It was a legendary show that drew a crowd of nearly half a million and saw The Rolling Stones give Cuba a taste of the best live band on the planet. The footage is the second to be released out of a six-part series.
Firs release saw The Rolling Stones’ share the 2016 concert movie Olé Olé Olé!: A Trip Across Latin America. The series arrives alongside YouTube as part of the streaming service’s #StayHome campaign.
The series has been somewhat dwarfed by the first new song from the band since 2012, “So the Stones were in the studio recording some new material before the lockdown and there was one song we thought would resonate through the times that we’re living in right now,” Mick Jagger said of ‘Living In A Ghost Town’ in a statement.
“We’ve worked on it in isolation. And here it is.”
